The Okidata B6500 monochrome printer was introduced in North America in November 2006, and in June 2007 in Europe. Targeted at workgroups of up to 30 people, the B6500 was OEM-rated at print speeds of 45 pages per minute (ppm) for letter and 43 ppm for A4 printing, and with a duty cycle of up to 200,000 pages per month.
Replacement toner cartridges are available in 13,000 page low yield and 22,000 (A4) and 22,500 (letter) page high yield options. Cartridges are chipped, and printers will not function properly with a chip missing from the toner cartridge.
